Engagement photos question

Hello ladies,

We're doing our engagement photos next week (finally!), and I'm trying to figure out what to wear.

I really want to wear a dress because I just always feel my best in dresses.

I just bought this new really cute black and white polka dot dress (below)

But I'm worried black and white wouldn't look as good on film. Should I stick with something with color?

I have a cute floral dress I like a lot (below).

I'd rather wear the black/white dress, but maybe color would be better.

Any advice?

In addition to being a bride, I'm also a photographer and I would say color photographs best. You could wear the black and white dress and have your fiance wear a color (mustard/yellow, blue, or coral are all great options with the black) or you could accessorize in one of those same bright, vibrant colors. Make something pop! That's my two cents.

  • Because it's spring; I love the second one. The flowers will really pop in an outdoor setting.
  • I have to say that my engagement photos look amazing, and I think part of it was due to the bright colors I wore (the other part was our awesome photographer).

  • Okay, I think I'll go with my initial instinct and wear a more colorful dress.

    Thanks for the advice!

Not at all, but I can happily remove it. I was meaning to give advice and show the advice in use. I'll take it down I certainly didn't mean to appear like I was advertising and I am quite certian she lives no where near me.

</div><div>In retrospect (after seeing your other non-photo posts), I believe you.  I apologize. Though posting your business is still not allowed.  Your thoughts and opinions are highly appreciated though!

  • I actually changed when I did my photos.  I wore a white dress and a yellow one.  The yellow photographed better and when I did the save the dates, the color options for the font, etc. went really well.  But got with whatever your more comfortable with or that is more your theme :) Enjoy your shoot!

My shoot is only an hour, and my photographer didn't mention clothing changes.  I might email her and ask her about a clothing change and whether she has advice on what to wear.

If she let's me change, I'll just bring both dresses :)
