Bliss gift certificate for shower?

the upcoming shower I'm invited to is the one where we're asked to not wrap presents. I was already disinclined to lug china or glassware to this event, so I'm thinking of getting a $100 Bliss gift certificate, so the bride can get a massage, or products, or whatever bridey thing she needs. I would be thrilled to get that at my shower.
Any issues w/ this?

    I don't think there's anything wrong with it but I wouldn't do it. A shower is generally to shower the bride with boxed presents. And this sounds really stupid, but I feel like even if its not a couples shower, the gift should be for both of them. Unless its a lingerie shower or something.

    Due to the fact that it's a "display shower" I'd be tempted to buy some skanky lingerie for her.

    I'm going to go the other direction here..... I got a massage from my MOH for my shower years ago and it was awesome....I really appreciated it. I used it 2 days before my wedding. I was unbelievably stressed out and this helped me relax a little...and it was something I wouldn't have been able to afford at that time and wouldn't have invested it into myself. I got 2 trunk fulls of gifts for my ex and I... 

    Since most people are going to pull off the registry, I think it's OK to get her this. You can also argue that a relaxed, spa'd bride will be calmer on her wedding day....a gift to the groom!

    I actually like the idea. I was considering getting one of my friends something like this before finances got in the way. Depending on the cost with Bliss, (I'm not sure if that's a specific spa?) the bride could also get a couple's massage so it will still be a gift to the groom. Since it's a display shower though, I'd be snarky and get a wrapped gift. Totally up to you though ;-)
