Beach Wedding Colors

I am getting married on the beach in September. I didn't really pick out colors because we aren't having a reception (just a dinner afterwards) so the only real color will be my bridesmaids dresses. My fiance really wants yellow and I love yellow, but I'm concerned about how it will look because my wedding dress is ivory. Have any of you seen a yellow and ivory combination and what do you think of it?

That sounds like a reception to me! It doesn't have to be dancing/bouquet tossing/glass clinking to be a reception.

Google "Yellow and Ivory wedding". There are tons of images and ideas and it will look just fine.
  • I just meant there wouldn't really be any reception decorations because it's just dinner at a restaurant so the only color would be at the ceremony :)

</div><div>Don't be concerned.  Your "ivory" wedding dress probably looks more white.....ivory is just usually softer and looks nicer on most people than true white.

  • Is the yellow pale or bright? If pale I would not go for that shade but if bright go for it and have your flowers have other colors in it.  Just my suggestion hope it helps.
  • I think the bridesmaid dresses can be the yellow!
  • I think that yellow is a hard color to wear for several skin tones.  It is a lovely color but make sure your bridal party is okay wearing it.  Sometimes it makes people (myself included) look like their skin is green.  I would suggest yellow flowers with a beige/taupe or navy dress.
  • I think it would look good if you had a brighter yellow.  A pale or buttercup yellow might make your dress look yellower in comparison since the shades are somewhat close.  Bright yellow will differentiate enough.
  • It's a bright yellow. I was definitely going to have my girls try it on first to make sure it looks ok on all of their skin tones. Thanks for your opinions!
