I'm getting a garbage can!!!!!

I know, it sounds stupid to get so excited about a garbage can. But it's one of those cool stainless steel ones that's motion-activated. I put it on my registry because my friend has one and I think it's really awesome. Don't know why I even made a registry, since I was told it "wasn't even worth it" to have a shower for me since my wedding is so small, and when my friend offered to throw me one, everyone said they wouldn't come so it never happened. I did have 2 friends who asked where I was registered, so I did a mini registry and figured I could use the discount card after the wedding to buy things we really want to upgrade.

I got an email from UPS this morning, stating that we have a gift on the way. So, nosy me, I checked and my mom's cousin - who wasn't even invited to the wedding because we're keeping it to immediate family only - bought us our garbage can. Maybe she felt the need to reciprocate, since her daughter just got married a few weeks ago and although we didn't attend, we did send a gift. It just makes me feel like someone actually CARES that we're getting married.

How odd to get excited over something like this, but I had to share. I have been having a really hard time seeing everyone's shower pics and b-party posts, knowing I'd never have anything like that for myself. Well.... now I have a garbage can.

Congrats!! I am totally going to update my registry and put on a garbage can now! I didn't even think of that. Ours is old and it's time to go!

Don't let anyone let you think that nobody cares that you are getting married. There are plenty of people that care, including all of us April girls!

Oh, I know my April ladies care. :-) It's just the rest of my family who, honestly, seem to be more put out and apathetic about the whole thing - like my wedding is SUCH an inconvenience to them.... when all along (for the 9 years FI and I have been together) they've been asking when we're going to tie the knot. Now that we are, they couldn't care less and find every opportunity to complain about it.

Yay I'm excited for you!!! We got a townhouse just after we got engaged so we had to get a garbage can. Since it's still new we didn't register for one, but my godmother has one of those and FI loves it. Maybe in the future we'll get one, but I'm afraid my lab will figure out the motion sensor and get into it. With the one we have now he can't. And yes we April girls are all here for you. You can pick your friends but not your family my grandma would always tell me, but friends are the family of your heart.

Believe me, people care! I mean, no one cares as much as us the brides, but they care, and it will show on the day of the wedding. And that's awesome about the garbage can. I put one on my registry too, not a motion one, but one that opens by the foot pedal so that when your hands are full I can use my feet! And I got it in black since we have white now and it shows everything. Ew
