I am really confused. How to calculate points?

since yesterday, I am getting 19 points. Now I wonder how to increase it. 

note: when i first saw my points number, I added another posts and replies. but the number does not increase at all

    yeahhh.. is it because of you clicked on "awesome". how about adding a reply or discussion? will it increase the points?

    You won't get points just for adding replie or discussions, but you do get points for getting badges and you can earn some badges by adding enough replies.

    ok this is weird. I had changed my handle to muppetfan but they registered me as BritniLeigh for this test (my old handle)....but now it says I'm logged in as muppetfan.
