Buffy-isms, because it's slow :)

since Sunday and last night I finally got to spend time with her--huzzah.

She has been doing awesome w/ her 'big girl bed'and the Mr. bought her a hello kitty pillow case for her 'big girl' pillow and she loves it
Buffy, however, was very bothered by the lack of mouth this morning.  She told me a good dozen times, while dragging this pillow behind her, that hello kitty "doesn't have a face"
We pointed out the eyes and nose, but the lack of mouth is apparently suddenly worrisome.

She crawled under a bed at grandma's house.  When I asked her what she was doing, she very cheerfully told me she was looking at the dust bunnies.  Grandma was somewhat mortified.  I tought it was hilarious.

Apparently the 'derisive laugh, followed by "NO" comes young and is the correct answer to "do you want some of mamma's spinach?"

This weekend, she saw me sorting out some of her old clothes.  She wanted to know why they were going into the bag and I explained that since Buffy was getting so big, I was taking her clothes that were to small and we'd give them to another little girl who needed them.  I was expecting the "MINE" meltdown, but instead she clapped her hands and said "Oh, she will be so HAPPY"

<div>that's awesome! (also a great reminder that we need to do the same....)</div>
  • She is a great kid.  I still remember when I was about 4 and my mom donated my red velvet Christmas dress to some clothing drive or other.  I was distraught.  Good for Buffy.

Wooz's new thing:  when denied something she wants, she announces, "Mommy, I am not going to like you for a long, long time!"
  • She's so cute!!  I love that she's excited about giving her stuff away.

The 'looking' for dust bunnies cracked me up.
  • heheh I love the dust bunnies!
  • My grandkids could find dust bunny farms right now.....

Anyhoo, a story about my DD who I'm sure is close in age to all of you.  When she was about 2 or so my former FIL (man was bald as a cue ball) told her he blew all of his hair off with a blow dryer.

We were in the grocery and she is sitting in the cart. A very elderly man was getting some groceries right next to us and he, too, was bald as a cue ball.  She looked at him for a minute and said, "My grandpa blew all his hair away with a blow dryer too!!"  Thankfully, the gentleman was a peach about the whole thing and said "Yep!  That's what I did!"

Love Buffy's attitude about sharing her clothes, but I think I will borrow Wooz' line about not liking someone for a long long time.  Priceless.
