FI and I know we want to have babies in a few years, and we've thought up a few names in advance as they come to us. The boy names were easy - I've always loved Mason, and my Nana's maiden name is West and she's the last in the line. So Mason West Lastname will be our first son. One night as we were driving back from the state fair, we were talking about names again and somehow I suggested Max - strong and simple. We wanted a middle name to honor all of the Jameses in our family - both my grandfathers, my brother, my dad, his uncle, etc. Lots of Jameses. So we came up with Max Jameson (subtle reference to my favorite whiskey, too).
The girl names have been hard though. I love Harper, Paige and Marina. FI is INSISTENT upon Roxanne. Seriously.
So what are your future baby names (or current ones if you haz teh baybehs)?

Fun! I'm a firm believer in not sharing baby names while pregnant, but waiting until the baby arrives to share. It just seems like any name you say there are friends and family members who will dislike it or have some negative connection to it, etc.
With that being said, since you are all internet strangers. . . I can share some that I like!
For girls my latest obsession is Peyton, followed closely by Emerson. We like my husband's name as a middle name for a girl actually, which is Lane.
For boys, my latest has been Beau or Leo with Thomas as a middle name (for my dad). Beau with our last name has a very cowboy ring to it which I love. I think, and I know this is beyond random, that a blond haired baby would be a better Beau and a dark haired one a better Leo.
Runner up names for boys are: Logan, Benjamin and Nathaniel
For a girl, I am obsessed with the name Grace. I told H and he said 'meh.' But we both like the name Isabelle. But we are struggling with middle names for girls.
Runner up girls names: Abigail, Charlotte, Brook, Lillian
So we are basically set in case we have 10 kids
My H's brother died so if we have a boy it would be named after him. Alexander. And we would use my Dad's name for the Middle name. Michael. So the initals would be AMC like the movie theatres. Runner up names for boys are: Logan, Benjamin and Nathaniel For a girl, I am obsessed with the name Grace. I told H and he said 'meh.' I really want boys and maybe one girl. I love Liam Thomas--Thomas after FI's dad---but he hates Liam. We both like Corbin, Jack and Reid (FI's middle name). I've started liking Luca too and I like Elijah and Josiah and other old Biblical names.
Girls names...I have aways been obsessed with Gabriella Elizabeth, but I don't know if I love it as much as I used to. We also like Harper and Jocelyn.
Not sure why I always just spend a lot more time thinking about boys names. I've always joked too if we have a boy Reid and then a girl we have to name her Paige. I just love books haha
Our top for a boy is Edmund. Our top for a girl is Anastasia.
EDIT: I lurve Saoirse and Hart.

For girls I love Gemma and Aurora Lee, but if I have a girl and name her Aurora, with BF's last name it would sound like a mouth full of marbles (my friends would call him Name Frustrated- Frust are the first 5 letters of his last name and it's tricky to pronounce at first) AuRoRa FRus... So we'll just revisit that when the time comes.
I'm a big believer in not having a definite name until after the baby is born - you want a name to fit their personality. I was either Chelsea or Sydney or Eve and my brother was either Nicholas, Zachary, or Evan. When he came out he looked almost albino and was super mild; my mother claimed that Nicholas and Zachary where too dark and harsh names for him.
It was a tough choice when I named my daughter. My heritage is mostly Scottish and Irish and I'm in love with the names. I was going between Rosalind, gracelyn and a few others I can't remember at the moment. I ended up choosing Rosalind but its spelled Rosalyn pronounced Rozlyn, we call her rose for short. <strong>For boys I was partial to Declan.</strong>
Posted by Atlossforwords
<div>THAT'S the one I forgot. I LOVE Declan, and it might trump any other boys name for me. I like to stay true to heritage, especially with last names in our families like O'Shaughnessy, McGlohon, etc.</div>

Our first son with be Joshua James, after FI and his father. I really like Jamie for a boy with maybe Peter for the middle name.
For a girl I love Hannah Jolene. My grandma lived on Hannah Lane while I was growing up and I think it's a subtle but sweet tribute. I liked Lacey for the longest time but FI says it sounds like a stripper name so of course it ruined that.
oh, I love Genevieve!!! I'd nickname her Eve in a heartbeat.
Posted by Joy2611
Thanks! I plan to nickname her Eve or Evie if we have a girl! I'm also obsessed with name meanings (so random) and Genevieve means "woman of the people" which I think is really beautiful :)
Our top name for a girl is Genevieve. For a boy, we currently like Oliver, but we're having a really hard time coming up with a boy's name.

Haha, I know! H has a tendency to hate all my favorite boys' names. If we have a boy, I don't think we'll have a name picked out until he's born, which is kind of stressful!
Y'all are awesome. I find out our baby's sex next month and I have no idea about names. All of these are great. I just texted H and said we should name a girl Inara. I was mostly kidding. He hasn't texted me back. Don't think he would be thrilled to name out baby after a prostitute, fiction or not. Edit: H just texted me back and said that sounds great. Lets name a boy Wash.

<div>Please do this, you would be my favorite person ever. I really, REALLY want to name my boy Malcolm so I can call him Mal. The want is endless.</div>

Congrats on the baby and good luck at the u/s next month!!
H's best friend's fiancee is expecting a baby a few weeks after we are. Before they found out they're having a boy, their top girl's name was "Elektra" which is totally stripper/prostitute-y to me (not to mention the mom is a psych grad student and fully aware of the Electra complex, eek!). I have never been so relieved for a gender reveal in my life!
In Response to Baby Names (No I am not knocked up) : AWW YES. I knew I seceretly loved you! I love Harper, too. My first pregnancy I had Clark Everett (Everett is a family name) and Lylah Marie (Marie is also a family name). I think my tastes have changed to reflect more of my Irish side, and therefore I think I've settled on Saoirse Marie for my girl, and my boy will be left up to BF, when that time comes. Allll that being said: Girls: Lylah, Saoirse, Madeline, Esther Boys: Liam, Everett, Malcolm (nod to Firefly)

Thanks. I'll check those out. I just feel so overwhelmed looking at the books. I don't want super trendy and I don't necessarily want something super common. H has like the second most common name in the US, both first and last name. He said he's pretty okay with whatever but we're never naming out child after food; nothing good comes from those names. Lol
Oh this. I have a cousin named Madisynn and her sister is Allisynn.
Aurora Brooklyn aka Rory.
We refer to our future children by these names when we talk about them.
